Sept. 26: Parents and Schools

How much of a say should parents have in the curriculum taught to their children in public schools? None (leave it to the professionals)? Substantial (they’re their children, after all)? The answer is probably somewhere in the middle. But how to identify where that “middle” should be seems to be the subject of yet another battle in the culture wars.

We didn’t choose a topic for Monday’s session, deciding instead to see what develops in the news and what ideas participants might come up with over the course of the week.
